Are there limits?

None that we set: no cap on files, segments, exports or how often you use it. The limit is your computer's memory. The performance test opens and exports a file of 300,000 segments.

What can cost you money

Only AI review and translation, and only if you use them. They run on your own API key from the provider you choose — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Azure OpenAI or an endpoint you name — and that provider bills you directly at its own prices. We never see the key, the text or the bill. Everything else costs nothing.

Why is it free?

Because there is no server doing the work. Your files are opened, edited and exported by your own browser, so one more translator using xliff.ai costs us next to nothing to serve. It is built and paid for by Terratra OÜ. See how it works and the privacy notice.
